Jaymie Derden has been the Director of Christian Education at State Street UMC since November, 2003.
She has served as the Elementary Children's Coordinator at SSUMC since 1993. She helped initiate and continues to coordinate the implementation and operation of their elementary rotation model Sunday school, "The G.R.E.A.T. Adventure." As a consultant for rotation model, she has given workshops to other congregations, guiding dozens of churches through the process of implementing rotation.
Jaymie received her United Methodist Church Certification in Christian Education in June, 2004. She is currently the Holston Conference Consultant for rotation Sunday school, and also serves as chair of the Holston Conference Children's Ministry Team.
Jaymie is married to Paul. They have two children, Jonathan, a pilot for Piedmont Airlines and Bethany, a recent college graduate. In her spare time, Jaymie enjoys reading and scrapbooking.
