Current Rotation: Paul's Conversion - A Blinding Light!
K-3 graders review the story of the Prodigal Son using our game wheel spinner.May 4-25, 2008
This month we will begin a four-month study of Paul. We'll explore his life as a Pharisee and persecutor of Christians. We'll learn about his dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus and how meeting Jesus in a blinding light changed his life and transformed him into a faithful apostle and missionary. Isn't it amazing how God uses the most unlikely people to accomplish great things?
Here's what we'll do in our workshops this month:Sunday Morning Live: Enjoy a puppet show put on by SSUMC youth.
Raiders of the Lost Art: We'll decorate pillow cases with tie-dye paint.
Holy Word Theatre: We’ll watch a movie about the story.
CyberSpace Computers: We'll review the story using software.
Memory Verse: Each rotation we have one Bible verse that we ask the children to memorize. Memorizing God's word is an important part of faith development. Children who memorize verses receive special award tags each month.Rotation Memory Verse: "Anyone who believes in Christ is a new creation. The old is gone. The new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17
G.R.E.A.T. Adventure is our exciting Rotation Model Sunday School.Kids study and experience the same Bible story/concept for 4 weeks in various formats (or workshops) such as drama, music, art, computer, storytelling and games, theater, and cooking while rotating to a different "workshop" each week.
Teachers do not rotate, but stay in one place, preparing one lesson (with some age-appropriate modifications) for the four week rotation. Consistency and relationship-building are provided by a
team of Shepherds who remain with one class for an entire school year.
